Hi! I love this photo! This is a very interesting picture, I am going to experiment with this idea myself. Bit concerned with the Angel Fish with a very big arm sticking out of the bottom of him though!
Let me try to set the scene. There was nothing between the camera and the people, as they aren't really there. What you see is the reflection of people standing next to me in the thick (5-10cm) plexiglass wall of an aquarium.
Due to the light (it was quite dark, only illumination coming from my bounce flash with softbox and lights mounted in the top of the aquarium) the people seem to float beyond the glass in the water.
This is an interesting scene. The subjects seem calm, (crossed hands) their attention is focused to something they're witnessing. They could be bored, or they could be very sad. I couldn't figure out what was between the camera lens and the subjects - perhaps a piece of cellophane, or just fog on the lens? Very evocative, but it seems quite grainy, and would perhaps benefit from a little more light.
And thank you for commenting on my "Fleeting Squirrel," really more of an exercise in long-distance animal capture than artistry. But I appreciate your comments, though I don't know how I could have gotten it to be much sharper in the conditions.
