About Another one of my "flowers" period in Hergiswil, that was perhaps too much dedicated to "romantic touch in natural history" ;-) Anyway, I would be very interested in your thoughts and opinions, especially because I consider my own photos of that period to be very "naive", and so perhaps I could learn something more from you, in order to be able to make some good florals, since nature is much harder for photography, than the typical photo of a flower might imply.

Fabio, thanks a lot for the comment and the thoughts! I do not think, however, that nature does always offer "perfect" beauty, and much less I think that it can be captured so easily in cases when it is offered. Of course all the beauty does lie in the eyes of the observer, but raising this to some kind of photographic skill would mean at the same time to just get out and shoot something in some way, which of course doesn't demand any skills other than holding a camera, and pressing the shutter button down. Is that automatically photography? To me, as said many times, it is not even amateurism - including my own ways many times.

Der Teufel steckt im Detail, selbst wenn er in der Not Fliegen frisst. ;-)

Best wishes,

Nick

P.S.: Free translation of the part in German, combining two says, one about the importance of detailed hard work, the other about doing something if necessary, even if one doesn't want to do so:

"The devil hides in the details even if he sometimes eats even flies if necessary."

if you lose your 'naive' way to see and show, all florals would turn dull and kitschy (as the vast majority of flowers pics here and in other photo-sites)... it's the colors and the blurry atmosphere of a casual still which means a moment of perfect beauty.
