yes, I guess I will do it one day, actually there is a nice garden full of them I often go, maybe one day I wll do it, but I think it will be difficult with my tripod, really.Thank you for your kind interest.

Hi Olga, you should be able to capture dragonflys easily. They park on these twigs and usually stay there for a few minutes. You can slowly approach them and usually they won't move, but sometimes they do. I was using my heavy tripod and this pictures was taken at F16. I find handholding difficult for maximum sharpness. They key is to shoot with no wind and of course the lens is key too. My 300 F4 has a minimum focusing distance of about 5 feet which is great for this type of shot. Good luck, best regards.

Thanks Chris, it was more luck than skill. The part that was hard was fighting off all the other bugs that were eating me while taking these pictures in the field.
