Hi Paul, Thank You for the kind comments :)) I have been trying to reply since about 2pm PST and then our server went out again.... anyway... everything is working once again and I thank You so much ..... for the tips, and I will definitely look for removing all stuff that does not enhance the image :))

Hi Michele....This one when I saw the small image of it I thought would look better with more depth
as I have notice seems to work better with cactus pants but when the large version came up I changed my mind. You caught this one wonderfully.
The shallow dof looks great! Love the one bloom!
Very beautiful......Lovely work...:)
Now teach yourself to pay close attention to every detail in the frame......Romoving anything that does not inhance the image such as dead blooms....I still have a had time with that. But it makes a world of difference and is not easily learned as you want to get the shot and start shooting before inspecting the overall frame...
Takes times.....As I say I'm still learnning that!

No problem, Michele... It was one of the first tips I got when I joined UF... there was a piece of litter in the foreground of one of my landscapes and I never even noticed it. But somebody else did. Now I try and be aware of the little stuff, too.

I always have a windbreaker with a hood as the wind gets really strong on the beach almost like clock work--- from 1- 6pm then no wind before that and after that in the summer time ---

Hi Nicki ! Thank You my dear for the kind comment..... the cactus would not live outside in the winter too well...not if it snowed like last winter but before the weather got all crazy this temperature in this area was an average of 50-60 degree's year round..and that was to be part of it's appeal... a moderate temp- but to me is very cold at those temps... especially when it's rainey it's very damp but in the summer like now and yesterday it was beautiful... high 60's , today maybe even 70 here at the beach...it never gets any warmer than that here at the beach tho :((
This little cactus is in a planter so it can come inside in the winter....

Cacti in Oregon? Nicely done. Only thing I would say is to remove the dead blossoms so they don't detract from the bloom. Not something I always think of in the middle of shooting but I'd probably notice it later and kick my own butt.
