About It was quite an experience walking around in the Acropolisarea for two days looking at all the old heathen temples, caverns, ornaments, sculptures and other remains. An amazing journey into a proud past that is now long gone in so many ways, but the impressive buildings are there to remind us of this era.

Very "classic" in every sense of the work Annemette. Nice choice of angle. And the toning adds to the classic look.

It really was, Kes. Amazing that it still stands after being bombarded by the Persians and later on the Turks but of course they make sure to renovate it as well. Thanks for commenting:-)

Hi Michele!!!:-)) So good to hear from you after being away from my photofamily:-)
I tell you I had a terrific trip there experiencing so much together with my mother. We woke up at 08 every morning and then walked all day until midnight. Sore feet but happy smiles:-)
I love Greek food, and I have been missing it so much. The Acropolisarea was much larger than I anticipated, so we spent much time there walking. We also went to see a huge cemetary and the beautiful way they memorize their loved ones. We also went to see their national garden, which was a nice place to get away from the noise and smoke.
Impressive old architecture and sculptures everywhere we walked in Athens and a lovely atmosphere and good weather.
Still we were surprised to see the poverty in some places and the huge amount of dirt and garbage.
So many Greek men with long hair which I really like.
I made friends with the dogs and cats we passed in the city:-) The Greeks have a bad reputation for the way they treat animals and also kill them, but these wild dogs were treated well.
Now I have so many photos that I must look closer at as you can imagine:-)
It was such a privilege seing Athens, and I can recommend it any time.
Take care, sweet Michele

Odd indeed because it suits me so well! Still I figured that I wouldn´t claim it as mine because of the lack of secret rooms, tunnels and spooky cellars...

You mean this isn't your house in Denmark? How very disappointing! I thought this was Chez Annemette! There I was, about to compliment you on your fabulous home! The grand design... the very realistic 'really old' effect on the stone... the ample space for bones n' skull stew dinner parties outside... but now I read it's some old joint in Greece! Oh well... ;)

Thanks Doyle:-) It really was amazing having the opportunity to see this building and the other ones too, to be there were democracy was born and were Paulus held his speech to the people of Athens. Great journey:-)

Annemette -- Excellent tone and detail; you really bring out the character of the building and the architecture. Nicely done but it could be a tad bit darker to show the stone work more effectively.
--Best to you, Jan
