Thanks, Gary. Ahhh, but if you look closely you can get a sense of some scale... the upper left corner of the photos shows some gentle ripples on the water as it gently streams by these two layers of red clay.

When I first saw this I thought must have been taken from a plane. A sense of scale is so absent. It's a great abstract. Regards, Gary

a mysterious abstract with very nice highlights and textures. Without another element for scale it is hard to imagine what it is and its size but the three different tones and lines is good enough. wonderful shot and point of view, very interesting capture.. regards..

Gracias Alicia. He puesto Diablo en un aeroplano a la Argentina. Tomarlo por favor en el aeropuerto. Puedes tratar de él.

Thank YOu for the explanation Dave-- I was having some trouble - and I had it alllll wrong :(( of course I thought the river was in the middle, and so was just lost.... and then I didn't understand why it was so much darker on the top portion of the image--- I get it now tho !! Sure is RED !!!!!!!! Excellent work Dave, michele~

Thank you, Shirley. Nothing so dramatic as an airplane, just standing on the river bridge 2o ft above and zooming in with a close-up of the clay layers.

Thanks, Michele, that is an easy one. I am on a bridge, 20 feet above the river. The left 1/3rd is the water going by, the center and right thirds are two layers of different color clay... much like your sand shots, a close-up of the river bank patterns.
