Excellent capture, I like the colours are a bit alike with the colours from Voronet Monastery from ROMANIA (from there I heard for first time about voronet blue colour) it is something special, very special for us romanian people!!!

Thanks dear Bilja for your comment; however, I don't think that Serbian people forget their heroes and saints, on the contrary, I see evidence of that everywhere and with most people I talked to. One of the things that I love about Serbian people is their pride about their heritage and the importance of maintaining this sentiment alive. I live in a country with no history or tradition, everybody is reduced to their lowest common denominator, any sign of pride is misconstrued as fascist nationalism.
I don't like that.
The USA is trying at all costs to suppress this precious gift that is our culture, because when there is no culture people can forget about their individualism and become another entity of their Borg ideology. I resist and thrive in places like Serbia, where History is engraved in the soul of every citizen.
These ruins are history; and that's what I'm trying to portrait. I am posting new visions of Serbia that I hope you will approve ;-)
Hugs my dear friend!

Dear Francisco:) That's we-Serbian.... we forgot very often our saints, our heroes...our culture, and our origin.....that's sad I know...but on the same way we know to forget all evil made to us from history...and we able to accept former enemy to be our friend....that's the strength and greatness of Serbia...ability to forget and forgive to anybody......so....forgetfulness is sometime very bad .but sometime very good....I think you should show also some beautiful things from Serbia , not only ruins.... Sorry if I was to harsh,it's only my sensation:) hugs biljana

What a shame to see these beautiful murals damaged and neglected. I'm glad you stayed to capture them. Often when we go back somewhere, things are not the same.:)

It was a nice surprise to find the church and with the doors open. I was lucky to have any pictures at all, everybody was telling me to leave because we'll return soon. I said that I don't believe in Tomorrow and kept on taking pictures. I'm glad of my decision.
Glad you liked them Tim.
Cheers!

How sad to see these paintings go to waste, Francisco! At least you've got the records of them. Excellent capture of the colour and details. Dave.
