About I really don't know how I feel about extremely photoshopped images, can they still be called photographs?
I took this photo last night and wanted to accentuate the heart that formed when these two friends hugged.

i think extremely photoshopped images can be done as long the concept of the photo require that... but thats my personal opinion only. Like this picture... I guess the message is very strong. You have a wonderful work in here. congrats!

Don't get me wrong Cathy, I can still carry a tune, and I just love getting my MP3 going when I am doing the dishes, but hitting those high notes is a lot harder these days. My husband would say I have worn my vocal cords out 'cause I talk too much!
Adelaide loves to sing, but alas still needs to fine tune her ear a bit more, she was in the choir for a while, but gave it up to develop her social life (they rehearsed at lunchtimes) LOL

A choreographer with no vision-I can tell...and what do you mean, back when you could sing???I would hope anyone who was blessed with the gift of a voice would use it every day, especially to your kids. Any of them follow in your footsteps? CC

Funny you should say that Cathy, I was in the stage production of 'Oliver' That the local performing arts group put on, back when I could sing (I was a strawberry seller & a boy in the crowd). At the end of one of our group songs, us boys were to exit at the rear of the stage, and give a little wave as we went. I thought it might be nice to take my cap in hand as I waved, and wave it instead...apparently improvising on 'such a huge level' was not looked upon kindly by our choreographer, and I got a bit of a drag across the coals for it! Perhaps I should stay away from the stage, lest I curse the productions!! LOL

It sure was a hit, Rebecca, final performances sold out. Absolutely brilliant, if you ever get the chance to see it... (A little scary though)
I would probably not have chosen to go see it, but had 5 family members involved (husband directed it). Glad I did. Someone with your interprative skills would be an asset on stage or directing! CC

Lol Cathy, no, not a student, but I am the type of person who talks with my hands and eyebrows, among other things, so her wide, upturned eyes, slightly open, apprehensive mouth...and his hand at the back of her head, all said tense, emotional and scary to me.
The actors seem to be portraying their characters and the mood of the play fantastically, I bet it was a hit!
cheers, B

Thanks Rebecca for commenting. I think you are very observant, are you a student of body language?
This shot was taken from the sidelines at rehearsals of the musical "Jeckyl and Hyde" where the majority of the characters die in the end. Maybe it is horror you read on her face. CC

Interesting that you titled this Protection Cathy, her expression appears very frightned to me, and he looks like he is comforting her after a nasty incident (hope not!).
I can see the heart shape you mention, very clever!!
This is almost like the lino carvings we used to do in Art at school ....long, long time ago..LOL
I like it.
cheers, Beks

Nothing wrong with this as far as post-processing. Some photos deserve it, others don't. The technique of PSing is almost as artistic as taking the photo itself, IMHO. I think it looks good!

Best wishes,
Dave

Great expression- very dramatic! I donīt use PS much, but I think that itīs such a gift having it. Earlier on photographers made photos appear much different and artistic too just by means of the way they developed their rolls of film. This is just another and less messy way seen with my eyes.
Take care
Annemette
