Yes, its basically a toy camera on the level of the old instamatic, just with a goofy lens. Part of the fun--no control. Heck, the viewfinder is hardly functional (something they fixed on the Fisheye 2 I believe).

They have a set aperture and shutter speed. Is that a problem? Would be fun to play with, looks like they maybe worth the money.

The Lomo Fisheye 1 camera is a 35mm film camera, and it doesnt capture a full circle, so the crop happens inside the camera, and impossible to get around. If I could, I'd shoot a full round coverage, but I don't have the $800 for a good fisheye lens for my Canon Rebel. :)

Very interesting shot, did you crop the top and bottom of this image or is this the way it's captured on the sensor/film? Great silhouette pattern and nice blue sky. I like it very much.
