Michele -- Other than a small theater/movie/stage section, the rest is nothing like you would expect. Two art galleries and living residences upstairs for the artists in residence. Most fun was watching the people that attended. I took no photos inside but was sorely tempted. --Best to you, Jan

Thanks, Paul. Luckily this one was taken over by a community-based and non-profit Arts group. But if privately owned then the owners want some return on their investment. Thus the garage, bank or whatever. As a theater it cannot compete with the cine-plexes in shopping centers, etc. --Jan

I just LOVE to hear stories of historical rescues as this Jan. It's SO sad to see a historic building downtown turn into another garage or faceless BANK.

Thanks so much for commenting, Glinda. I hope you do a series some day about these buildings. I would love to see it if you do. It is sad to see great buildings die. --Jan

What a difference a little care can make! Broadway in Los Angeles is full of these old theaters, all of them as historic as you can get in LA - but all falling apart today and housing everything from revival meetings to salsa clubs. I have been meaning to do a series on them. They're all a bt pathetic. Nice shot here by the way. Great color.

Thanks, Christine. I agree. The Patterson in Baltimore is the exception not the norm. There are several other restored and historically significant theaters in Baltimore, though. Quite surprising. --Best to you, Jan

I love these old marquee signs... a time gone by. I'm glad that it was restored, we are losing too much of our historic old places... the new one have no soul.
