no u got it in one.. that is the point of the picture the two angles coming together at odds with one another... landscape and the weather in a constant battle for dominance.. in this case the landscape is the loser (as we have very few landbuilding projects on at the moment not for the last 65000 years at least in Oz) and so the cloud pattern bearing the rain that was soon to fall dominates the landscape as it always will .. wearing it down to mere grains of sand (which are coming soon) You see Australia has no young landscapes like you guys have ... we are on an old old continent and accordingly Australian photographers are challenged to photograph our generally flatter landscapes and our not so "spectacular" mountains, accordingly we are forced to abstract our imagery (well I am at least)

Rog...:) A beautiful Aussie summers day, peaceful, quiet in the high country........ and then........:)
The clouds are brilliant, like a meteor trail and then the impact explosion behind the hillside... I feel like I'm crouching behind a rock for cover... :)

this is a interesting composition where the angled horizon and slanted sky action create a lot of visual interest. What could have made it better from my point of view is having some kind of focal element, so that my eye has something to work from. As it stands now, I find that there is initially a good composition to explore but nothing specific to hold me in your photo. It looks like this is a mid day shot as well. I imagine it took awhile to get there and you had to deal with what was there light wise. But if it had been later in the day the colors and shadows would possibly have created even more drama and maybe helped in creating a more definite focal point.
