Hi Anson. I do hope that you are feeling a lot better. It always seems that time spent being ill is good time wasted. However, there is nothing much we can do about that. I'm glad you were able to use some of the time taking pictures and showing your talent for displaying the beauty of the floral world. I have been away from UF since the Fall. Life has been busy with a variety of things that comsume my time. Now, I am hoping to get some more time to get back to my hobbies. Take good care of you. MAry

Was recovering from an illness, MAry, so had to content myself with flowers from the garden and flower shop. So glad they caught your eye, and it is so good to hear from you after so long. Don't be such a stranger. Regards. Anson

Thanks a lot for the info, Anson! Yes, isolating the "important" this way helps really "defining" it, making the important directly visible. 90mm - quite an unusual focal length to me! Something new from Canon? It might also be that my data are quite outdat(a)ed ;-)
Have a nice Sunday,
Nick

This was taken at closest focussing distance on the 90mm lens, Nick. I somewhat prefer isolating what looks to me like the most interesting part of the flower, as here. Thanks again for an enlightening discussion. Regards. Anson

If this had been the image of the whole flower, I would have said that the sharpness is too low! But in this case, the flower is captured in such a way that the softness of the contours supports the fragility of this "closest close-up"! Add the delicate colors that seem to really agree with the soft contours, and here we are a very feng shui like image!
Best wishes,
Nick

It's one of thoses images that you can tell will be great just from the small clip. It stands out and you just have to click on it and see it in a larger format. And it doesn't disappoint. Wonderful color and perfectly framed. Thank you for sharing it.
