Dear Ace
A beautiful description of love. This can never be taught by any religious or political character of a selfnamed-guru, but comes from the heart.
Still I believe that love can inspire those who have never felt any due to a complicated childhood. Those people need to feel that love is not something that comes with a recipe or a formula or asks to be repaid. It grows without any warning and sometimes without making sense. Real love is also the kind that continues to live although the subject for ones love might treat you wrong. It can´t be turned off on a switch. It embraces those who deserves it and those who doesn´t - but in reality we all need it to live and be happy:-)

i want to explain more what you said through this quote!
What do I mean by love? It is such a word that one cannot give one meaning. All attributes like kindness, gentleness, goodness, humbleness, mildness, fineness, are names of one and the same thing. Love therefore is that stream which when it rises, falls in the form of a fountain, and each stream coming down is a virtue. All virtues taught by books or by a religious person have no strength and life because they have been learned; a virtue that is learned has no power, no life. The virtue that naturally springs from the depth of the heart, the virtue that rises from the love-spring and then falls as many different attributes, that virtue is real. There is a Hindustani saying, 'No matter how much wealth you have, if you do not have the treasure of virtue, it is of no use'. The true riches is the ever increasing spring of love from which all virtues come.

Unique 'about' section my brother. But if man aspires to attain oneness with their God . . . surely one must learn to love one's self as it approaches that goal . . . nurture the direction and love the traveller . . . To work for others, selflessly, may be selfish as it makes you feel good about yourself . . . but perhaps it suggests a love of God more . . . and a desire to be one with that God. Perhaps it's selfish desire to be with God that makes people do such things . . . . If so . . . let's hope that this kind of selfishness can spread! :)

An exquisit sky full of contrasts. I could see this as a poster on my wall:-)
About your words you´re right. All people are in some sense selfish. When we love someone one of the reasons for this is because they give us good vibes and the other way around.
Even when we mourn over the death of a loved one, we also cry for ourselves because we´ve lost this person. This I still would call a good kind of selfishness.
Nevertheless there is also an unselfishness. The mourning for an unknown person or animal that has been killed or tortured, helping strangers from a distance, the fight for people´s rights although never getting to know them, working to save and aid people during civil wars, disasters and so forth.
Still you can say that in the last case some people also do voluntary work to receive praise and get a good CV. THis is despicable, but nevertheless all right as long as the victims receive some help instead of none.
Oh, there are so many layers to this, but you´re expressing exactly what I´ve thought about for a long time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Ace.
