great photograph Shirley.

I like the graininess of it and the black and white helps to add to the "camouflage"

The high POV gives the impression that he is about to pounce.

regards
John

Hmmm...just the opposite of what you usually hear about cougars attacking. Nice to know. Thank you, Justin!:)

there's a case involving a cougar who nursed an injured human back to health, bringing him meat and lying near to warm him.

really, an incredible animal.

pretty amazing capture, really.

Thank you, dear Barbara. I was using the 400mm, and there was no way the cougar could get out of the enclosure.:)

What are you doing up, Sweetheart? Anyway, thank you...there was plenty of space between me and this cat. That's why I was using the 400mm lens.;)

Hi Brian. Yes, it is not too far from Mt. Rainier National Park...about 45 minutes east of Olympia, Washington. It is a wonderful preserve for animals that can no longer be in the wild for various reasons. It is wonderful for photography, because the wolves and big cats are in overlooks so you do not have to view them through fences, and the settings are fairly natural looking. There is a tram ride through the hundreds of acres where the horned animals are kept, such as moose, elk, etc. I could spend just the whole day watching and photographing the wolves.:)

Beautiful picture, Is the Northwest trek game preserve a place you can drive to? I'm sure seeing this big cat was very cool. I wish we had them up here in alaska. Nice Job
