Rose Hill cemetary is the resting place of many civil war heroes and my #1 favorite guitarist Duane Allman. I wish that I could have seen him perform live! (one of my buddies did) He borrowed the first seven notes from the song "as the years go passing by" sped up the tempo a bit and turned it into arguably the greatest opening riff in rock history. I'm refering to the song "Layla" which catapulted Eric Clapton from star to superstar! It took me a half hour to find it even though I had been there a few years back. Rose Hill is an incredible place if you are ever passin through Macon Ga. When I returned to my car, turned it on, the second part of "Layla" with Duanes most incredible slide performance ever was playin on the radio station I was listening to. Coincidence?
