Yamil, The bears in Churchill begin to gather in mid-october and the numbers increase until the bay freezes over.
As soon as the bears can get out on the ice, they are gone.
Ideally the Last week in October thru the 2nd week in November are supposedly the peak. If you get there during that time, you will most probably see plenty of them.
Thanks for the comment!

What a stunning shot Bob. When is the best time to go to Churchill to see the Polar Bears and what are the chances to really see them? Congratulations for this capture and keep them coming. Yamil

Mr Wildlife himself... You've captured a wonderful, playfull moment. Excellent work Bob! I don't care how beautiful these things are, or how nice Churchill was... I would not survive one minute over there with that cold :-)
I've seen many more excellent images from your trip on your website. I can't wait for you to post some in here.
Speak to you soon :-)

OK, your pics have convinced me I definitely want to go to Churchill!! Thanks for the tour group recommendation.
I just love how you captured the texture of the bear's fur.
By the way, I just checked the weather there - it is 7F and blowing snow, windchill of -16F. Sounds a little nippy for this southerner! Can you rent cold weather gear?
