Thank you very much for the great comment and all the thoughts, Doyle! I think now I know what what it was! Take the almost invisible dust/moisture mixture in the air and let it hover under the lights at night in the city. It will reflect a bit of light, and if the exposure time is long enough, it will appear as a halo. In this case as a blue halo. Interesting thing to experiment with, so let me try some more captures of that sort!

Hi Nick:
I'm not going to be able to help you with the haze. Diagnostic issue . . . can't fix issues for which the cause is unknown! Since the film was fresh . . . could it have been a developing issue? A limited, minor exposure during the developing process? Very intriguing Nick . . . but whatever the cause - I like the effect. And the figures at the end add depth too! Wonderful composition. To my mind - lens flare seems unlikely and I'm thinking a filter - even a Graduated one - cannot help unless you can duplicate the conditions and determine whether or not this will be a recurring issue. I suspect not. But you did get this shot and it's very cool. :)

There is indeed something different. I though that it was the blueish haze on the bottom, and I still don't know if I like it with this haze. And even if I like it I don't know why I like it. Strange indeed.
I don't know what the reson is for that special light. The film was a usual fuji superia 200 and the lights over the street don't seem to be something special either. I have to try that again and see what could be the reason.

Nick, there is something different in this photo: the film, the artificial light? Anyway I like the lonly mood materialized by the two little persons far away.

I don't know if it would be consistent since this was the only photo I shot there at that time under that light. I have the impression that it could somehow be connected to the lights over my head - who knows...
The film has been about two weeks old (shipping date printed on the box).
I'll have to repeat shooting the photo there when light conditions are similar, so let's see what will happen.

I like the photo as it is, with the bluish tinge.
Only thing I can think of is either lens flare or color balance. Since you are shooting film, perhaps a filter but it should be pretty easy to correct in PS. Was the tinge/haze consistent on other photos taken at the same time and place?
Was film fresh?
