About One of the first shots after this machine came out of the box. Prowling round the house looking for things to shoot: books, bins, bottles… and bears.

Doyle: yes and yes! This was one of the first six shots I took after I got the Nikon out of the box, and I was desperate to upload something as soon as possible! Actually, I rather like it, but appreciate that it perhaps lacks feeling, the lighting (on-board flash) is a little flat and the zipper SHOULD be outside the bed covers. I'll reshoot when I get back to Warsaw. (I took the same shots with the Casio, and of course I wouldn't dare suggest that they came out better...)

Nice texture conveyance. To my eye the range is a little flat (underexposed too?) . . . also . . . I think I would have aligned the bear zipper with the color line in the bedding. Just my perceptions! :)

Thanks Gary. I was really pushing for colours and sharpness and trying to get grips with the new machine as fast as possible. Never occurred to me to go for a little warmth and feeling!

The lighting is a bit flat, AJ, but you've have to be pretty hard hearted not to like this image...he looks a bit miffed as if you're taking too long to get the shot!
Regards, Gary

Ali i dont know i dont think so, maybe the light is wrong, it doesnt "trasmit" feeling... maybe next time try to use a warm light and different angle of view... but is just my thought, i am not a pro ^^
