Thank you very vrey much for the nice detailed comment, Mary! Indeed, this "vertical tendency" puts something special to an otherwise horizontally outlined landscape. Moving the eyes a bit higher until they meet the upwards lines will take them at the end to the sky.

The title matches well and the differing colours add a lot of interest. The lines of the water and the road or train track have us look horizontally while the lines of the trees and rock have us look vertically. Interesting combination. Very pretty.
