Michael - Yes i was using a Manfrotto monopod with a really heavy ball head. The whole rig (camera, lens and monopod) weighed about 20 pounds. I could get used to carry it around (except for the sore shoulder).

Pat -- Great stuff! What fun you must have had. I've found that shooting sports action can really sharpen your game (excuse the pun). Were you shooting from a monopod?
