Thank you for the very understandable metaphor, Mary! I think it does make much sense!

So, I am not a photographer, but

I am a pinball wizard
there has to be a twist
pinball wizard
I got such a supple wrist.

(with all apologies to The Who ;-))

Thank you very much and best wishes,

Nick

Hi Nick. Okay, you have had me trying to figure this out. Here's what I think happens. It is like a pinball machine. The line on the right slides one right in; instead of sliding out the back, so to speak, the tower bounces one to the other side where the shorter section bounces one back into the scene. Oh I'll bet that does not make a lot of sense, but it seems to be something like that.

Hi Mary and thank you very much for taking a closer look. The perspective "slide"like enhancement could be indeed a very impostant part of it, especially when considering the fact that it is just lights in darkness.

Could it be that the lines of perspective being built out of lights rather than objects, can have such an effect?

Cheers,

Nick

Hi Nick. I have looked to see what gives it that sensation, but am not sure. Maybe it's the 'slide' that the section on the right provides. It does give a nice 'slide' into the back part of the picture.

Thanks a lot, Mary, for your lovely comment. I realize that "magnetic" action now that you said that. I wonder what might be the reason, though.

Keep well,

Nick

The reflections are lovely. One thing i really like about this is the way the lines of your composition draws me right into the scene. Very pretty.
