You are absolutely right, Anson! It has been a cold day in January and everything was trying to survive in that freezing cold. (Photographers on the road included - fingers? What fingers? ;-))

I see exactly what you mean here about the background dear friend. I think a dark tree would be good for this. I'd try that again from a differnt angle now that the winter stands in front of our doors. (My fingers prepare the next rebellion ;-)) Those brownish-greyish flowers are really hard to get, since almost no background can be found around where they stand, that is less bright. I hope they will plant them somewhere else too.

My intention was to play a little bit with those washed out colors in the low light of winter, since I like them very much on photos. A visualisation of that low light condition, so to speak, which makes all contours flowing in each other. I think I need more of that dark green that is already at some parts of the background on this photo?

Thank you very very much for the idea, and best regards!

It looks as if you captured this flower just as it was preparing to fight the cold Swiss winter, Nick. Those two brave mini-bouquets are struggling to maintain their vitality. Unfortunately, they are difficult to see well because of the similarity of the light background. A darker less obtrusive background might have been in order here. Regards dear friend, Anson.
