...........................CONGRATULATIONS..........................................
Well done to you Kes for your well deserved award. You always get such wonderful melancholy expressions on their little faces and I bet that that is the complete oposite to the way they really are. Great poses, superb lighting and a wonderful creative setting, well done to you my friend.
I have had a look through your family shots and envy you at the way they co-operate with you.....all I ever get from my own family is 'don't you point that thing (camera) at me' etc. My neighbours' two children have been posing for me and the camera loves the younger one. I'll post some in October. My very best wishes to you as always......Ray:)

Thanks Andre! Well, to be honest, if it wasn't for Hugo's comment on "sear" I probably would have stopped on that image. That put me on the right track - the shot is blown so have fun - and it carried over to this and other shots taken at the same place/time.
I still plan to go back to this location and mess around some more. Hopefully I'll have a lens for that D80 soon!
Best regards, Kes

Hi Kes Congrats on this well deserved award!! This is a really nicely done end to this series. You obviously had a plan from the beginning and it worked out very well! It's nice going back to familiar places and adding to the composition as you have done with this series. Great creativity!
I love this kind of image. Just a little dark and mysterious. Not your everyday Wal-mart snapshot, that's for sure:)

Hi Kes. Congratulations for FoD. You deserve it...this version is perfect...I like the children's position. He has inviting, knowing look, appearance...but she looks touchy, sensitive. In addition what I see she was resentful against the something or someone perhaps...Kes I don't know how to explain in other words, the whole composition just GREAT!
Kind regards, Khayala

I do like this Kes...very nice! The square crop is wonderful, nice depth and tones. I like all of them but If I were forced to put them in order I'd pick the one in the middle in terms of darkness. The really dark one is my least favorite and the other 2 are very close...a great sci-fi image...I like the way your son (?) is hiding his hands it really adds to the alien or mysterious feel, I notice we can't see her hands either...well done Kes...:)

Like them all! The atmosphere is so strong in all. The image of the place alone was striking with that lighting, but with the children is amazing. The expressions and looking different ways. A memorable part of a film Kes.

A lot of comments and completely understandable. This is a very nice moody shot, with the effect of the light as finishing touch. PS I prefer the first version.

I'd have to say this one I like this one the best so far, it works very well in B&W...In this photo particularly the grain doesn't take away from the pic at all, it goes nicely with the grain in the wood and the overall tones...Great work with depth of field and shadows...Excellent capture!!

Kes,
They look so sad - I hope they aren't!
You have created an intersting mood in this photo, and I really like the way the light and shadows are balanced. You did a good job exposing this shot in a tricky lighting situation.
Nice job!
