Aniko, how sweet. My ten year old is a red-head with gorgeous sun-kisses too so this caught my eye. Beautiful composition in 6this shot, I like the tilt of the beret and the matching tilt of her hand. Lovely.

You are quite right ana... in my work I wouldn't do anything like that. Also, as I mentioned earlier, I feel the child in the image you showed me is too young to be an "actress" and therefore her disturbed expression is her own. If she feels uncomfortable, then it is probably fair to say this is child abuse.
I have not seen all of Claude's other pictures, but I will be sure to look! I admire you care and respect for the vulnerability of children. I know you understand I feel the same way.
I have seen some internet forwards (sent to me by friends) that have really offended me. They have been of children (very young) and the images were meant to be humurous, but I saw the discomfort and confusion on the faces of these innocents. I was not amused at all!
Sadly, sometimes adults do not know where to draw the line in the pursuit of their "art".

so you saw the picture and you saw his other pics. and you understand what i feel, but you dont think its child abuse.
looke the child is very annoyed there
next the clothes se is earing sugests nakedness and in themselves the whites are very beautyful but obviously full of voluptuousity...and i see no point in show a voluptuous image of a child and alll of it is a prepared session, and he likes the girls showing one leg, all f it makes me feel revolting.
in your work i imagine you wouldnt do a thing like that.

I have just viewed the image, ana. I do see your point, and also the POV of the photographer. There is, I feel, a very fine line... and yes, it is "good artistic work", but I am not sure how the child is REALLY "feeling". She seems somewhat too young to be such a good "actress".
I will say though, that there are many of Claudes's images I have liked very much. I cannot say this is not one of them, either, but since you pointed out your feelings, I looked deeper into the image... yes... I think iunderstand what you feel from it!

Hi ana!
I always respect "my" models as people, whatever age they are. This young girl was actually delighted to be photographed... very proud, always to be photographed by me, and enjoyed playing "dress ups" (like the beret etc) for these fun shoots.
Please explain, ana, what you mean about sad and annoyed expression... are you referring to this girl? She is not an abused child. I know her family well. Perhaps I misunderstand you, my friend. You are, i feel telling me about a differne tphoto, not this one. And yes, i would be interested to see. i cannot stand to see any chilkd abused in any manner! I am interested to see what you are referring to.

Aniko this is excelent as a portrait ass a photo. I can see here the respect for the young model and the 'chiq' in her is so subtle that i dare to say you are entitled to coment some children's photo in usefilme that shoked me imensely, where the child is abused : we can see her sad and annoyed expressin and far more things ...i think you should see it , if you want please tell me and i'll try to find it to show you.

Actually I have been having a few probs with my scanner and hoped this print would come up OK. To me, I admit it looks overly sharp, but then, all monitors are different! So thanks for giving me a heads up on this one.
