Hi Hugo I am a total novice and eager to learn about photography.
Would you mind explaining how you know that Pauline's image went through "postprocessing"? I don't know what to look for in order to come to this conclusion myself.
Please explain why you don't think the viewer's eye should "shift back and forth" between elements captured in an image.
Would appreciate it tremendously.

In general your post processing work is excellent. This photo (very good as it is) has marvellous tones and colours. I like the title too.

Hi Pauline,
Moody photo, vey well emphasised by the low levels of saturation; nice postprocessing, and well used to impose the atmosphere on the photo. I'm not so sure the speedboat on the left is an addition. Eventhough it creates a very strong contrast with the stillness of the scene, it also creates a split within the composition, making the eye shift back and forth between lighthouse and boat. Without it, the emptiness would've been stronger, I believe. Nevertheless a great feel and very good image.
Cheers,
Hugo

Great shot Pauline, good title.... Couldn't you give the lighthouse a little bit more room on the right ? Anyway, I like the entire scene, including colortones.

Great title! The viewer can imagine the disruption. I like the simple tones in this image, and the simplicity of composition. We are led out to the light house along the dark path, and then the speed boat drags the focus away. Nice work. Cathy
