Bill: There are tricks but they often don't work. Most of the birds are already gone here at 9100' of elevation. Keep trying to get your shots. It's worth it. Thank you for the kind comments.

Outstanding capture Fred,
I spent 3 hours at my Trumpet Vine trying to get a shot like this. All I got was a nice shot of the blooms. So now that I know how hard it is to capture one of these little fellas I have to admire yours all the more.
