I love these kind of shots! I think you've really got the framing down on this, and I love the way the light seeps through the walls. As well, the gorgeous colour in the outside world does wonders for this shot!
It is a knot hole Gary, however digital cameras, most often interchangeable lens types, are dust prone.....CCD collectors are magnets for it. The image while it is nice (and you say there is more detail inside the barn in the original file?) isnt quite working. 1)the black areas are overpowering the window scene. 2)The window scene needs to be a more compelling visual to draw the viewer to it. Good concept and very well thought out.
I found this picture visually addictive. I love it and I don't know why. I only wish the cracks in the barn were alittle bigger, but there is nothing you can do about that.
