Thanks for the comments my friend and yes the feeder has seen better days. Like I told Laura, I went to refill it and was hanging it and it came apart in my hand, I had already bought two new ones and had them hanging. They would have been mad with me.

Thanks for the comments, That was my first mistake, the old feeder was to delicate, I got it filled and was rehanging it and it came apart. Good thing I had two new ones hanging already!!!

Nicely done Kenneth . . . and that feeder LOOKS like it's been well used over time! I don't know what shutter speed you used but I would attempt, if possible to speed it up. Of course, the 18-55mm lens may not be able to pull in enough light depending on the aperture range so you might not be able to get the proper exposure at a faster shutter speed with that lense . . . but if these little guys continue to come around for free food . . . you should have plenty of time to practice and see if the wing can be frozen without blur. As far as this shot, though . . . you have good colors, DOF and composition.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Very nice capture, Kenneth, and perfect dof to get him against that background.

Hi Ken! Wow, what a great capture! You are getting into birds in flight is a big way! Hummingbirds nonetheless! The shutter speed is just right, since you have him sharp enough and still show the motion of the wings! Very well done my friend!

Good shot Kenneth. Those critters are not easy to photograph. DOF is great, colors and lighting are good. p.s. it looks like it is almost time to refill that feeder. lol
