wow these are fantasic shots John, I actually just shot a few of these I believe there bonaparts gulls or laughing gulls? you have captured them perfectly looking really majestic!
perfect lighting and feather detail and wonderful poses..

Thi is the original blue sky background. I was standing on the boardwalk overlooking the ocean.
It was about 1 hour before sunset.
