Really quite amazing. The so called original you've posted is very uninteresting as far as detail is concerned. And yet you have transformed it into something wholly other.

The new image is as though of a thing that could be touched (and not flown over) and is dry and flaking. I like it.

Easy process, I don't archive the original...
Look here, nothing much to see on the original.
Speaking of the original: this was the jpg embedded in the raw... I don't like the camera's decision with aerial photos!

Just moved the sliders of each color channel until some of the highlight and shadow clips. Added the golden tone later.

What? This looks like some sort of cloth or bark where the layers are separating. I believe what you say, but my eyes call you a liar. Damn my eyes. Well done.

Can you tell me more about your process? Will you post the original to this thread for comparison?
