I was setting up to photograph this copper underwing caterpillar I had found on a small hickory tree at the side of the road when this ant came along to harrass it. After a couple of pinches, the caterpillar would flex its legs out of reach of the ant, and the ant soon gave up. And...as is always the case, the breeze started to blow at the most critical time, so I missed the best shots of the action. Not enough light available, as it was I had it set on ISO 400.
