Great reflections caught in this wonderful waterside abstract Gayle....Again a well converted mono toned composition with the excellent inclusion of diagonalised footpath. A good piece of work, well done.....Very best wishes...Ray

Hi Gayle,
your title made me smile, Ive been posting on another site for a year and I have created a theme 'Zen Principles':)
You were careful while composing this - I like the diagonal. Well done!

And there's that rule-burdened diagonal again! This is very effective, Gayle, especially the combination of geometric forms, line and curve, triangle and ellipse. Just the sort of simple composition we all walk by every day... without "seeing." Well done.

good framing, to lead that hard angle into the corner.

oh no no no! wish i could write your language so you could understand me better...i like you to give critique but there is nothing wrong with the contrast but your monitor may have a problem...and yes,i know the "rules",but was joking with you...hahaha...made a joke...being funny...teasing you,Kiarang....but i see with my inner eye,not just by my 2 eyes (smile)

Seems that my critiquie no works for you!
i juat write what i feel.
The rules aren't bad things that you mention ( just joking with you,i know i read about rules once upon a time, but i just compose in-camera how i like it instinctively)
the rules are : Diagonal line for composition
Symmetry
rules of 1/3
and etc!

hi and thanks for feedback...yeah,the reflection caught my eye and then i framed in-camera the angle i wanted...by accident if i followed any "rules" cause i just shoot it as i like it!

what rules? i don't shoot by rules...(just joking with you,i know i read about rules once upon a time, but i just compose in-camera how i like it instinctively).....you might need to calibrate your monitor cause the contrast level is quite spot on via my monitor...sorry it doesn't appear like that to your eye...thanks for feedback
peace,gayle

Very well composed Gayle. I am trying to do this more myself (composing) and I think you did a wonderful job here.
The reflection in the water gives me the illusion that it is a pipe I am looking through. The diagnal line is very well placed.
Great work.

A nice compositin study by the rules, a shot full of simplicity and silence.
i realy like your idea,
just pitty for lack of the light & contrast!

Scooby Doo said that? Man, what a copyright nightmare!!! I saw your other by the same title btw, was originally going to try to impress by quoting you! But thought better of it... you'd see through me in a second, hehehehe!

Hey, there are some 'curves' in this one, and this is after all, the Zen of Seeing... ya never know, the coms could skyrocket!

"The artist-within must exist in every man, for if man is created in God's image, it can only mean that he is created creative." - Zen of Seeing: Frederick Franck.

Nice work again Gayle.
