Hi James, I used side lighting with a special contraption over the flash and a couple of coloured gels (Sepia and Blue). The smoke is from a joss stick as they burn for a long time and let you play around with the angle of the smoke/light.
Alex, I think the setting was around 1/15 and f8. The system I used reduced the amount of light by a few stops so had to compensate.

the lines and curves formed by smoke create and awesome pic, as u have definitely captured here, do u remember what your setting were for this pic, or around what they were? amazing capture, once again!!

You've managed to pull some really good colors out of the smoke. I imagine it's from a cigarette? How did you light it?
