This is a nice shot. I agree with Miles H. about the light, maybe see some light coming into this shot, different time of day, whatever. Nice color balance, and nice framing with the foreground trees.

Hi Dave, Just wanted to thank you for stopping by and viewing my work. I see you are not too far from the Phoenix area. We have a big photo club here in Sun City West and occasionaly go on trips. Maybe you would have some ideas of places in your area. Recently a group took a bus trip to Canyon De Chelly, Monument Valley and other places. My email is in my bio. Thanks again.
Don.

qué ambiente seco y árido ... unas formas extrañas, una bella composición. Felicitaciones!!

Very pretty shot Dave. A variation which I have used with marginal success is shifting the arch opening out of center. It usually works best for me when I'm composing the shot rather than cropping in post-production. When shooting film of these sandstone arches I use an enhancing filter to "pop" the earth tones and provide the contrasty greens of the folliage. Of course it helps too if you can change your perspective and draw in some of that unbelievably blue desert sky. This is an absolutely great place to photograph under natural light like no other anywhere, and you've done a fine job with this piece. -john

very nice texture, maybe a little bit more contrast should be better, very nice composition.

Nice scenery, but lighting is a little flat. Given some nice warm low angled raking light this would look beautiful.

The colour is amazing Dave. I think the texture of the rock would add to the pic if you were closer. Did you shoot this at 85mm? I bet a 200mm would work to give you an amazing colour/texture look.
