Oh, I'm aware of how dirty my sensor is, Don. My own target, instead of a sky (what if it's night?) is just to open a full screen white palette in Photoshop.
I'm convinced you could clone out all known spots and defects as a single action, but I've never bothered to build it. ;)

This really does have great orange colors. Nice one Paul. Go out and take a couple of shots of the blue sky and see how much dust you have..It will suprise you.

This reply was drafted in a hurry and from memory. If it doesn't make sense, or you get stuck somwhere, please e-mail me, and I'll elaborate.
As you can see, I don't use this technique on all my photos, but it can make a big difference at times.

It's pretty simple, Ian: make a drop shadow.
Here's how to do it in Photoshop.
-with the crop tool, drag it out to the edges of your image. Let go. -Now, drag it out beyond the edges. when you hit enter, it will create an empty border. Make a new layer, fill it white and place it beneath your photo. -finally, with your photo layer selected, you can click on the 'f' symbol in the bottom of the layers panel, or right-click on the photo layer and go to Blending options, and adjust the Drop Shadow settings in the Styles column on the left.
Hope this helps, Ian!

Great Shot too Paul, Not only do we have the same camera, but similar tastes in photography. This one's almost like a painting in it's soft focus and tones. Would love to know how one gets the "Stand Off" the paper effect you use in your framing? ;-)
