Jingjoy - I agree. Especially the white "object". Once you think you can afford the lens comes the next and even bigger step.....telling your spouse!!

Hi Pat,
I like this shot! My eye, however, finds the top part (yellow and white) a bit distracting, I would crop it - but that's just me.
I guess, I can dream about getting that 200mm F2 lens when I have my first born graduate. That's 10 years from now :-)

I think the 85 f/1.4 would have changed the perspective unfavourably. It is just circumstantial that two hats were in the plane of focus. It is a great shot, one to be proud of, in any case!

Thanks Eb. Maybe the 85 f/1.4 could have done it!

A very strong composition, Pat! I like the repetitive pattern, strong colour and selective focus. If it had been possible to get just one hat in focus and all the rest blurred, you would have been in photographic heaven! Well done!

Maryam - I really didn't do much planning. I hoped it would come out OK.

Thanks for the input Susan. It was just being in the right place relative to the seating.

Miladin - I was hoping the fucus and DOF would come out this way. Sometimes I get lucky. I appreciate the comment.

Maurizio - There is something about purple. Have you ever noticed that it sometimes comes out "blueish".

Thanks Greg. I just happen to notice the "mass" of color and thought it would be an interesting shot.

Many thanks. This is the LAST shot I expected to take. I was there to get photos of my daughter.
