This is gorgeous, Paul! The tone really gives it a sort of vintage post card effect. Very cool!

It's a very effective and attractive shot--just lovely. Before I read the About, I was trying to figure how how you got this shot in Paris. Duh! Well done. . . The duotone treatment is perfect Regards, --George

Sal, Duotone converts greys to selective colors, based on their luminance. So you assign a color to the black side and a less-important color to the whites.
In photoshop, load image, then go to Image | Mode | Duotone. You can then click the load requestor to see some of the more classical color-schemes ready to preview. When you're done, be sure to change mode back to RGB Color so you can save it as a JPEG. There is also Tritone (3 colors) and Quadtone (4 colors) availalbe in that same requestor.

I'm in! This is great. I like the water allowing one to see through to the base of the tower. Paul, talk to me about Doutone. Sal

Nah, I'm a shaky photog, but I had a contrete railing to rest my hand against, and I was using my Canon 17-85 image stabilized lens.
I enjoying being able to burn about 100 shots during each song!

Nice composition - sharp too. Either you have rock steady hands or you used a tripod :-) I like it a lot. I think the Duotone works well here.
