like others have already mentioned,this one grabbed me,too!...the color contrast,lighting/shadowing and the perspective all rock,gurl!...yes,a bit of Hopper,but there is a photographer who did similar style and when i jog my memory,i will report back who i was thinking of....print and hang this one,Theresa!

I get Edward Hopper a lot on my paintings..I have several barscenes and lone figures in interiors..He was one of the first artists I really loved all there are many more! A friend of mine, who is also an excellent photographer and the love of my life saw some of my photos and said they were really pretty good..that as a painter you can also photograph...the eye you know. So now I try to take photos but I am still learning so much. Thank you Antonia for your interest...it means a lot to me.!

This actually struck me as an image quite reminescent of a famous painter -- do you know the one? Painting was also my first love, and it was using the camera to capture images to paint that got me hooked into photography. The two can co-exist quite nicely, but alas there is only room for so much at one time. This is why Photoshop has become my paintbox as well, because I can incorporate all my passions. I look forward to seeing more from you -- and thank you for your nice remarks about my work. Antonia

Thank you Antonia ..yes I am new to UF...I appreciate your comment on this piece for it is my favorite also. I had taken the photo for a reference to a painting...(which was and is my first love)...I was going to do. But later was helped to decide that it was a good photo in its own right. Thank you so much for your support as what you see in this portfolio are my first attempts at doing photography! Your work is outstanding both in content and quality...something to aim for!

Stepping back from your portfolio by way of your thumbnails, this is the one that nailed me. It is a dramatic story told with appropriate drama in light and shadow. The composition appeals to me greatly. I especially enjoy that the subject is backlit and unrecognizable. This will touch a chord with many who have either been in her shoes or watched someone who was sitting at the bar. This is very artistic and I can see it signed and hung in a special spot.
