About	Repost, totally different CS work though, so I guess its a different print. Two Raconversions, one for the highlights and one for the shadows do bring the HD into a usable range. About five layers to create the finished look i.e no funny bits wherer shadows meet the highlights. I've another one to post later of a foal in a field where the sun is directly behind the foals head and the same technique is used.

I'm reworking a couple of dificult shots, my CS2 skills are improving all the time so its interesting to revisit raw files...akin to the darkroom days. Speaking of darkroom days - I think I'm getting close to the DR of neg printing, trick is to stagger layers to clean the shadows and that allows more tonal manlip. and to use scripts to blend layers of raw conversions or even actually blend dng files...alot of work but then again so was getting a good print in the darkroom. I know its hard to apprectiate a clean good DR with a beauitfull Dmax on the web- but its the principle of getting a good print.

Well,

I'm sure this has to be viewed as a print to appreciate fully the work done in PP. Still a nice shot, nice clouds too to make it interesting ... I think this may benefit from straightening the verticals.

Of to Galway for a Stag this weekend .. I'll give you a shout next week sometime ..
