Love the composition and colours Tim - and you've got those clouds to bend to your will again! Love that you've managed to get another flier in the frame too, really gives a good idea of the heights involved.

Hardly qualified as a rock jock, but enjoyed going along with experts, never in the lead. Ended up suspended in space at the end of a rope over a deadly drop just once, when I got stuck and clung there helpfless till I fell off. You really appreciate your friends after an experience like that! But now I can hardly walk along the edge of a platform without feeling dizzy (a side effect of my hearing problems). So I'm well out of that. And yeah, it is scary to think I used to do that for FUN!

Hey i didn't know where a rock jock too. I taught mountaineering in Banff as well as lived in Yosmite doing one wall after the other. Some day i will get a scanner and post some very scary and exposed climbing shots....freaks me out to look at them now...haha

That's a bit like my own experience, Tim. When I found how friable the rocks were on most Japanese mountains, that put an end of my rock climbing. Then my paraplane engine seized up, and somehow I never replaced it. But photos like this one, and the occasional mountaintop panoramas, can set the old longings going again... Long may we both continue to enjoy this wonderful world we live in.

Hi Gary,
I was off at a meditaion retreat for 2 weeks and am back on my feet now so to speak....but still traveling around sleeping in the van....vagabond...
I am now looking for a place to live in Victoria. but will likely still be bopping around the country plenty this summer. Maybe I'll drop by and say hi again.
Nope, I kept my feet on the ground...but who knows it looks like fun!

I like your composition, Tim, and the way you've caught the others in the distance, as well.
Dave.

Tim, this wonderful shot reminds me of my one-time paraplane hobby. (Mine had an engine, though, which some people call cheating.) I don't suppose I'll ever do it again, but it gave me some thrilling moments... I wish I had been taking photographs then; I would have had some quite amazing panoramas!

Great shot, Tim, but kind of early in the day for you to be posting isn't it?? hahaha... Nice composition here with the chute being partly cropped as it is. Even the cloud tends to direct ones eye into the picture. I hope you got a chance to get your feet off the ground there? Cheers, Gary

Nice one Tim, the composition w/ the parachute at the top makes for a nice fill-frame, and creates a cool way to focus the eyes from the top down to the bottom,

Cheers,
Chris
