About Unfortunately I haven't had any time to upload comments since my stay in South Africa. I'm trying to make up for that in due course. Many thanks to all the feedbacks received recently - appreciated!

This is a nice safe angle to shoot these beasts Mireille and it is ironic that you filed it under 'unusual vision' as the poor old rhino has very bad sight. Well done on this shot of this powerful looking animal. My very best wishes to you as always....Ray

Well taken Mireille - One see them more often in this way than clear and in the open posing for the camera - typical behavior. Regards.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for your feedback. Luckily I wasn't walking around when having this encounter otherwise I think I wouldn't have been able to do anything anymore :)
There has been no cropping here as this beast was very close and yes I shot at 200mm but I had to do it very quickly as it suddenly started walking away.
As to the trip, it was actually a disaster but luckily I took some very good photos.
Cheers,
Mireille

Thanks Doyle...this white rhino was so close that I didn't have to crop the photo, but I had to act very quickly as it suddenly started to walk away from the jeep...so there was no need for me to run away :)

Hi Mireille. I sure hope you weren't just walking around when you came across this beast! Great shot. I agree about the crop being just a bit too tight on top, though I don't mind the left one. Looks like you had an awesome trip down in SA!! Cheers, Gary

ps I hope you were shooting at the 200 end of your zoom (o;

Mireille:
Great capture here. In my humble opinion, I would have considered not cropping so tightly on the top and left side. But to be fair . . . My shot might have been blurry; it's hard to focus while you're running!
