L'ho vista ieri sera, ma ero un po' agitato per via del dibattito televisivo tra Prodi e berlusconi.
Rimedio questa mattina, questa storia dei piano per la messa a fuoco e' veramente intrigante, ci vuole pazienza e conoscenza, gli effetti sono effettivamene coinvolgenti.
Mi piace molto, fondamentale l'accoppiamento con il titolo.

I've read Lukasz' comment an your reply with much interest. Although Lukasz point is quite strong, I think I tend towards following your approach, which places the emphasis on the artistic freedom. Interesting reasoning, pun, obviously, intended. I think in retrospect with that sentence, the blur and the tone add to the message, the technical data is far less important in this photo.
I do agree with Lukasz that the sentence should be completely in view, though, even with the blur, it would create an even stronger visible graphic composition.

thanks a lot for your comment.
The reason of this unusual dof is because the title (and the translation of the sentence below) is "The restoration of the reason"
In reality the sentence was different but with a lot of movement on the camera I've been able to have only these words.
I wanted to have this specific focus plane and a "not human dof" because in my personal interpretation this represent the lost of reason.
Dante's "thinking" face (on focus!) gives the sense of the need to stop and rethink on the sense of reason... a restoration of.
Just a personal interpretation ;)

Eh già...il restauro della ragione...in molti ne hanno bisogno...forse un pò anche io(che non si dica che non faccio mai autocritica);-)))
Decisamente particolare, non l'avevo immaginata così dalla tua descrizione. Ci si può leggere molto in questo tuo messaggio fotografico oltre a quello che si vede!

I am really impressed about the technical details you gave us, but I did not find the picture really interesting and technically perfect; first of all I do not understand the DOF here - the lack of sharpness of this small gate in the distance really distructs my view - I found very strong connection and interaction between these two status so I would prefere they were less or more sharp;
and what about this sentence? - would be nice if you did not cut it -
there are plenty of sky here so IMHO there was space to include this sentence without cutting it;
