Thank you for your lovely comment, Taran. I totally agree with you regarding digital and film. Just yesterday I went in to where I work on my day off and stayed all day just taking photos. I took 295. Unheard of in my days of film, simply because of developing costs. Digital isn't cheap to set up, but once you have, the cost is minimal, although I still like to print out my best shots, especially family photos. There's nothing like having a photo album you can pull out to show people. I also love not having to wait to see your photos and I do enjoy the work involved in the 'Digital Darkroom.' I like being totally in control of my own shots. Cheers, Ann.

Pretty rad. An interesting moment that very few cameras and even fewer photographers could have recorded during the days of film. Macro is undergoing a revolution right now (like everything else in photography), as you probably already know. It has been my experience that to crack off 350 shots of a particular insect playing on a particular flower is really no big deal anymore. This would have been a daunting proposition with film (changing rolls after 36 shots, and then paying for development). I am in no way trying to water down this moment, but rather, trying to put technology in perspective (sometimes trying to grasp all these wonderful new photos is mind boggling). What wonderful times in which we live. Thanks for sharing.

I find this quite inspired (though reading the comments the result is perhaps fortuitous!) I love that sharp focus on just the one petal in the middle - this is in no way a "blurry" image. And I love the contrast of colours of the beetle against the flower.

Thanks, Joggie. Actually, I'd forgotten to change the apeture when I turned on the flash and the beetle took off when I was least expecting it. I almost deleted the photo when I first saw it. Cheers, Ann.

A very difficult one to take - very well done with nice colours and composition. I like the movement in the ladybird which adds a lot of motion and interest. It seems that you had enough light to go up to 125th/sec which would add a little bit more detail on the ladybird. A great macro Ann!
