thank you for the great critique Hugo. I would agree on the composition nad may go back and try for a centered comp with another Lens. This was actually taken with Canon's 10-22 (UF hasn't placed this lens on the list yet", I believe that is causing the distortion you see here, I saw it as well but decided to rotate according to the wall's seperation opposed to the windows/door.

Thanks agian Hugo!

Hi David,

Great composition, and almost graphical lay out. It creates a very strong feel. I like the tonal range, too, showing details in both the dark areas as well as in the brights.

Eventhough the conter of attention leans to the right a bit more, I think (if it were possible) you could even emphasise the break with the centered composition a bit stronger by placing door and windows even more to the right. Don't think it would "unbalance" the photo, but it might make it a bit more playful.

Just curious, did you distort / crop this photo? The transitions between the dark and bright parts are perfectly horizontal, yet the window stills seem to be more diagonal on the right, and the windowstill on the left (just left of the center line of the axis is near vertical, yet one would expect a slight countering diagonal there) Hope you see what I mean, I don't mean lines towards the upward vanishing point, which create the perspective, but the placement of that vanishing point, which seems to be located to the right of the image center line, which is, for an unchanged image, a bit unnatural. Really zooming in on the finer nitpicks here

Cheers,

Hugo
