Thank you Bill, I had minimal damage, but... the area is still not back up to snuff. We lost most of the Stores in Central Mall (Pt. Arthur), lots of small business have just folded. Things are slowly returning to normal here.

Laura, beautiful capture of the egret and it's surroundings. Nice to meet you again. I lived in Port Arthur for about eight years and miss all the beautiful scenery in the surrounding area. I do not use photo shop, however my editing program has all of the tools you mentioned. I will give it a try soon!

Laura also, my knowledge was so basic, I didn't know that while doing the wand or any tool you can hold down the shift key and continue marking. Alison

Laura, I met a fellow photographer in the park one day, and he showed my this step to bring out water etc.
1. bring up the photo you are working on.
2. select area you want worked on with either the magic wand or the marquee tool.
3.do (control J) to duplicate layer
4 In the drop down box in layers, choose soft light.
5. if you want you can play with the opacity, across from the drop down.
6. go to the little arrow above the opacity, click on it and flatten image, that will get rid of that layer. and save if you like it.
I hope you understand these instructions, I am not a wizz in PS, but learning. Alison
