Hi Dave,
Interesting! Did you know that Toronto did something similar with life size paper mache' mooses a few years ago? I'm not sure if there was any charity event involved with our mooses. They were also muti-coloured and themed. Most of them were sold off to various commercial enterprises as well and can still be seen around town :)
Your image reminded me of the documentary movie I saw last week. "Grizzly Man" Very strange and a little disturbing, but well worth seeing.

Love it dave! The City of Erie PA did similar with fish and frogs. It went over big and allot of donations were collected.

People had a great imagination. Perhaps 10 yrs ago out town had a fire plug painting contest. Some painted by young school children colorful but not very artistic, but some painted by professional artists were amazing. You did a nice job of capturing there bears. Del.

Wonderful collage of shots Dave and a very interesting 'about'. A great cause was supported with this great idea in your country. Hi Dave, Great collage with these bears! I guess the idea comes from Winnie and the famous polar bears of Churchill, Manitoba :) Great idea for a fundraiser, the artists get to work, and the public enjoys, they are lovely sculptures that add character to any city. Great to see each picture, my favorite is the one in the brown house coat! I like how you included the center piece with the street sign and the native theme.

These are great Dave, each one so original, you have presented them really nicely. Our city does a similar thing for a couple of years they had sculptures, cows, cars,circus animals etc. that local artist paint and then after being displayed all summer they are auctioned off. Makes for fun viewing. Alison
