About Thin ice in a lake in a park in Deventer. I especially loved the patterns of snow blown across by the wind.

Hello, Marco - a beautiful photograph! Your architectural training really shows well in your photos. I like the snow patterns as well-it really adds interest in the foreground. Of course the sweep of the curve is beautiful.

Thank you for commenting on my photo - and it led me to your wonderful portfolio - I'm taking a break at work now, but I'll come back and spend a lot more time here!

Best regards,
SteveR

The wind blown streak and the reflections on the ice are very pleasant. I enjoy the light quality in the willow branches. The diagonal lines create dynamic interest and I find that the eye stays nicely within the composition. I would like to remark on your stated philosophy on photo enhancement. Digital cameras and films will all render a scene differently. It becomes necessary to manipulate the medium to reproduce the impression the light painted for the benefit of your eyes' view. My camera records a very flat, soft, colourless image. It becomes the duty of the photographer to bring that image to life! In my opinion, this "enhancement" is quite proper to the art. Thanks, Marco, for your very thoughtful comment on my image.

nice subject, but I think it would have been better if the composition included the whole tree with the hanging yellow branches and maybe if the sideline of the lake would have ended more in the leftbelow corner. Indeed the patterns over the reflection on the ice is realy great.
