Eb thank you for you time to explain. Actually don't know much of the mechanics in specially lenses, I have great desire for Fisheye but this is the reasons hold my purchase , money is no issue I guess need to convince my self passing the fear, so far my16mm is almost free regards ultra wide aberrations and fringing. Harry, what you are seeing is chromatic aberration, a problem which comes with ultra-wides and certainly this fish-eye. The purple fringing can be only partially removed within Nikon Capture. To eliminate the remainder would take careful selection and desaturation in PS. I'm getting used to the effect and feel all the good qualities of this lens more than compensate. I also have the Nikon 12-24 which seems to be free of chromatic aberration.

Interesting view of the gardens, Eb, and I like the mountain in the background, it really sets the whole image off. Dave.

This is very well composed angle with beautiful vibrant colors; Eb I'm wonder if the purple vignettes are part of the fisheye? I plant to get one but no rush. Harry
