About This is shot in the Redwoods on a miserable foggy day last year. A lot of my shots have water spots on them from my lens. I heard that if you spit on the lense it will help? Anyone that has tried this tip?

Very beautiful composition and subtle color gradations, Kelly! I think the fog really helped to give you the smooth transition from light to dark. Great tonal range! Spitting on your lens is OK, as long as you have a soft microfiber cloth to wipe it :)Better though is to carry a light UV filter - just so you don't scratch your lens.

This is another one that has to be seen in the large view, Kelly. It has a very powerful feeling when seen in that size!
Thanks for all the chuckles...I've smiled and giggled my way through all the comments! By the way...if you are a bit on the crazy side, then you are my kind of people! Sane people are boring!!! :)

thought it was in black and white from the thumbnail, now, i think it looks better in color now that i have seen the bigger picture. Nice point of view, what is interesting is where you place the starting line or trunk of the tree, well composed! comgratulations!

Although I absolutely believe every single word you say you crazy person, Ann is 101% correct regarding the question of to spit or not to spit. Mark you I was pleased to read on and discover that you would have licked the lens rather than spat; good girl! I'm only teasing you my sweet Kelly, I know you are strange, well you do 'talk' to me..'nuff said?

I love the way you have angled your shot up into the canopy of the trees it has created an awesome perspective. Well spotted opportunity and execution. Best wishes to you sweetie and 'see' you soon....Ray

I swear I read about the spitting part on the web sight somewhere. I need to find it again so you all can take a look. I'm not crazy. Strange sometimes, but not crazy!!! Anyway I will stick to the filter idea. Sounds better anyway.

Great perspective, Kelly! I agree with Ann, if your gonna spit, do it on a filter (or maybe just keep some of that lens cleaning tissue around and wipe off the water spots periodically)! Anyway, spit or not, I like your image.
Dave.

Who said any thing about class anyway? I have class!!! I sear I do.... I'm taking a PS class now!!!! Besides, I would just lick the lens very lady like when no one is looking. So there.

Oh PS ....Kelly...it's swimming goggles you spit in for clarity when you're snorkelling or scuba diving - not photographic lenses. :)

Rather than spit on your lens Kelly (no class - haha) it might be a better idea to get a protective filter like a polarising or UV filter then at least if they do get wet the moisture won't damage the lens itself. You can always clone out the water droplets later in post process. I've had this problem a number of times on my waterfall shots. I don't see any water drops here though. I get dizzy looking up at this one. hehe

Cheers - Ann :)
