Well, I still love her expression, even though I don't know what I'm talking about.

Hello,
I'm sorry, I'll be direct here: I don't like it very much. I don't think blue reflects her mood. To reflect, one needs an original reality - just likea mirror reflects a person... I don't actually see her mood so well here in her expression. Blue is a cold color, and she's just looking at the camera, so to me, the blue reflects nothing, and adds nothing. If she had an expression that would tell me a story, maybe blue could fit it, but then, maybe not this blue, and mostly maybe no blue would be needed at all.
What I can see here is that her face is distorted by the lense, but I still haven't entered her mind or mood. It is best, I think, to keep photography simple. A portrait is about how a person looks but also feels and lives in general. Just stick to that, and you may get great portraits without needing the blue to reflect who the person really is.
Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, pompous, etc. I just thought that your comment was calling for a general comment. I hope it was of some help. Best regards.
Hi, Bob. Using just the computer window, I close-cropped this and it looks pretty good. Emphasizes her expression very nicely. You might consider that.
